The Muftugiller from Taskoprulu, who were selected as a special principality and admitted to the Ottoman Palace - they would take the surname "Erol" with the surname law - started to work in the palace in various positions. The fact that Taskoprulu Muftugiller were generally employed in the parts of the palace where sweets were produced, such as halvahane, sugar house and dessert house, provided them with a substantial experience in confectionery. This experience encouraged Mehmet Efendi from Muftugiller. With this courage, Mehmet Efendi embarked on an adventure that would not be unlike his palace adventure. He comes to Istanbul in 1807 and opens a candy shop in Eminonu. From then on, he would practice his art in his own shop. Until the great fire in Istanbul after the First World War, when many shop owners locked their doors and left for their hometowns, never to return. Mehmet Efendi also lost his shop in the great fire and had to return to his ancestral lands with his son and grandchildren. When Cafer Erol, Mehmet Efendi's grandson Cafer Erol, a daredevil and adventurer like himself, leaves Istanbul, he knows that one day he will definitely return.In 1935, Cafer Erol follows in his grandfather's footsteps and opens a candy shop in Eminonu.
